Pilgrims get a loss at Riley
SOUTH BEND — Plymouth’s Pilgrims fell at South Bend Riley 71-44.
Plymouth was led by Kadyn Ellery with 13 points and Trent Van Duyne added 12, with Kylen Ellery putting in 11 points.
“This game got away from us late, but it was a closer game than the final score shows,” said Plymouth coach Greg Miller. “I was proud of the effort and fight from our guys throughout the night. Turnovers came back to haunt us in the end, and we missed open shots we have normally knocked down this year.”
Riley stays unbeaten on the year. Plymouth goes to 2-3.
Plymouth’s JV also lost by a 47-26 final.
“I was proud of the effort and fight from our guys throughout the night,” said coach Kaden McCrammer. “Especially shorthanded, with two players home sick. We battled until the end. Turnovers were the ultimate factor in this game, as Riley ramped up the pressure.
Both teams will be back in action Tuesday at Wabash.
