Jones comes up big in Lady Pilgrims NLC win

MISHAWAKA — The Plymouth Lady Pilgrims traveled to Mishawaka for a Saturday afternoon NLC matchup taking a 59-29 win.
Plymouth jumped on the Cavemen right out of the gate, forcing Mishawake to take a timeout in the first four minutes of the game, with the Lady Pilgrims on top 12-2.
Plymouth’s full-court pressure helped spark the energy on the offensive end.
The Lady Cavemen had no answer to Plymouth’s Lena Jones, who led the way in points, assists, and rebounds with 22 points (8/13 FG), seven assists, six rebounds, and three steals.
Jones’ assists were dished out to Sophie Miller in transition, who ended with 15 points and four rebounds. Chloe Horton ended with eight points, six rebounds, and four steals. Lydia Wray also contributed 7 points, four rebounds, and two steals.
Of Plymouth’s 22 made field goals, 16 of them were off of assists.
Plymouth is now 10-6 on the year and will be back in action Tuesday night as they travel to LaPorte to take on a non-conference opponent.
