Plymouth gymnasts take a win over West Noble
PLYMOUTH — It was a sophomore sweep Monday night at West Noble with Plymouth taking a 99.1-90.8 win.
“Resting some of the varsity lineup because of a busy week ahead, the sophomores stepped up and showed the real depth that we have on the team,” said Plymouth coach Amanda Bender.
Jenna Blake took home first on four different events with four different PRs on the night. Amyra Benchaar’s three PRs of her own let her find the podium in 4 events as well. Damaris Aguilar showed her consistency that has been developing all season with 1st place on the floor and 2nd place on the beam, her best two events.
Freshman Birkley Cooper also rebounded after a rocky start on bars to take 2nd on the floor and a share of the win on vault. Lila Hanyzewski rounded out the lineup for the night, competing only in vault and bars, finishing 5th and 3rd, respectively.
On the JV front, Mia Krathwohl took stride and went three for three with PRs and 1st place finishes. Sydney Manuwal was also able to PR on vault, placing second.
Plymouth will take on Elkhart at home on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
