Quinn heads to Spoon River CC

LAKEVILLE – Senior Karson Quinn has signed to continue his academic and baseball career at Spoon River College in Canton, Illinois.
“I came across Spoon River College because I had been following the program for a long time and could see myself playing there,” said Quinn, who plays third base and pitches for LaVille High School. “I am expecting to catch primarily with the possibility of playing corner infield and possibly some innings on the mound. As of now, I plan on studying business.”
Quinn is set for his senior season for coach Brian Lawler. He was the leading hitter a year ago, batting for .432 while leading the team in runs batted in, and tied for the team lead in extra-base hits.
On the mound last season, Quinn finished with an earned run average under 1.00 and the lowest OBA on the team.
“I have been playing baseball ever since I was able to,” explained Quinn, who earned all-conference honors as a junior. “I did play travel baseball for a couple of different organizations. It impacted me greatly, it not only helped by seeing different competition from multiple different areas but also put me around like-minded individuals who had the same goals as me.”
Spoon River is a member of the Mid-West Athletic Conference, along with Danville, Heartland, Illinois Central, John Wood, Lewis & Clark, Lincoln Land, Parkland, and Vincennes.
