Plymouth boys split NLC double dual
DUNLAP — Thursday night, the Plymouth boys’ track and field team traveled to Concord for a three-way meet.
Concord’s all-around talent got them the two wins against Plymouth and Mishawaka. The scores between Plymouth and Mishawaka were close all night, with Plymouth winning.
The Pilgrims started off well by winning the 4×8 against the Cavemen, getting the early 5-point lead.
Senior Cole Figg won the 110 Hurdles overall, followed by Senior Carter Bush winning the 100 Dash against Mishawaka. In the 300 Hurdles, Cole Figg won the event overall. In the 800, Aidan Faulstich and Joe Stauffer went 1-2 against Mishawaka for a big 8-point push.
The throwers were doing well as they secured 2-3 in both throwing events against Mishawaka. And, Caz Hundt tied the Mishawaka vaulter for 1st place. Freddy Kallenberg ran a brilliant 2 mile race where he had a big surge on lap 5 to cap the Mishawaka runner, and brought home the win.
It came down to the 4×400 team of Ethan O’Leary, Aidan Faulstich, Jordan Gast, and Hunter Shipley for a chance to take the team win over Mishawaka, ending with Hunter Shipley closing a 15m gap to beat the Mishawaka runner in the end, splitting a 50.2 leg.
Plymouth is now 6-2 on the year, 2-2 in NLC action.
