Lancer golfers battle Elkhart, elements
ELKHART – The high school golf team traveled to Elkhart to face Elkhart Christian Academy and Marquette Catholic on Thursday.
All three teams battled heavy rains at times and gusty winds throughout the 9-hole event at Bent Oak.
LaVille registered a season-low 229, while Marquette closed with a 178 and ECA a 181.
Adam Aschenbrenner carded a 49 to lead the Lancers. Jalen Heilman and Riley Ort finished a season-best round on the front nine. Heilman had a 56, while Ort finished his round with a 58.
Kian Hibbard of ECA was the medalist after a round of six-over-par 36
The Lancers will return to action May 7 v Culver and Plymouth at Pretty Lake. Tee time is 4:30 pm. LHS will then participate in the Marshall County Invitational on May 10. The event is set for a 1:30 pm start at Pretty Lake.
