Plymouth boys run to 7-2, 3-2 in the NLC

PLYMOUTH — Last night, the Plymouth boys’ track & field team hosted a dual meet against NLC opponent Goshen for our Senior Night.
The meet started with a big 4×800 win. Plymouth’s Hunter Shipley coasted on the Goshen anchor to outkick him in the end.
Pole Vaulters Joe Stauffer and Cas Hundt both vaulted 10 ft, securing 2nd and 3rd for the Pilgrims. This was a one-foot PR for Senior Joe Stauffer. Senior Carter Bush won the 100 Dash, followed by Senior Cole Figg winning the 110 High Hurdles, running a new best personal time.
Shoutout to Freshman Brock Shortt, who in his first 110 hurdle race ever, took second place overall, beating the Goshen hurdlers.
Within the next 3 running events, 4×100 – 400 – 300 Hurdles, the Pilgrims scored 23 points to jump ahead. The 4×100 team won their race, 400 runners Hunter Shipley, Jordan Gast, and Will Ogilvie swept the 400, and then the 300 Hurdlers Cole Figg, Ethan O’Leary, and Brock Shortt swept the hurdle race.
Plymouth slowly pulled away from there with the win.
Aidan Faulstich won the 800, Carter Bush won the 200, and then the 4×400 team dominated a huge win to cap off a Senior Night win by 20 points.
“I’m very proud of all our kids and the effort they continue to put into track and field,” said Plymouth coach Curtis Nordman. “A few big-time individual lifetime PR’s are: Kylen Ellery in the 200, Joe Stauffer in Pole Vault, Leo Sickmiler in Shot, Kayvion Golden in Disc, and Jonah Rich & Will Ogilvie in the 400 Dash.
Plymouth will be at Wawasee on Wednesday against Wawasee and Warsaw.
