Plymouth sweeps round one

CULVER — Plymouth travelled to Culver Wednesday to participate in the First Round of the Culver Academies Girls Tennis Sectional, beating North Judson-San Pierre 5-0 in a match that was moved to their indoor facility.
Overall, Plymouth lost just one game in the five total matches, with 2S Sophia Cantero, 3S Mia Hartley, 1D Marley Christy-Emma Jackson, and 2D Marisa Langfeldt-Natalie Sheely all blanking their Blue Jay opponents. Plymouth 1S player Tynley Gantz won 6-1, 6-0 on Wednesday and played high-quality tennis throughout her match.
“I thought we played aggressive tennis on all five courts tonight, and they were fun matches to watch,” said Plymouth coach Brad Haeck. “Even at this stage of the season, I’m excited to see us continue to improve and play better each match into the postseason as the competition gets tougher.”
Plymouth travels to Culver Academies for a Sectional Semi-Final match against Triton tonight at 5:30 p.m.
