Argos, Plymouth girls battle to tie
PLYMOUTH — The Lady Dragons traveled to the Plymouth Lady Rockies, kicking off the latest match in the Breast Cancer Awareness Series Thursday night, battling to a 1-1 tie.
It was the 60th minute when Dragons Alleigh VanDerWeele struck her free-kick, perfectly placing it just inside the near post.
Four minutes after Plymouth was able to answer back and equalize the game at 1-1 with a goal from Carley Dias, assisted by Livy Cooper.
The remaining 16 minutes both teams found opportunities in the box, but both came up big with defensive stops and spectacular saves.
The Argos JV was able to get in a half game taking a 2-0 win.
Next up for Argos (0-1-1) is hosting Northwestern at Eugene Snyder Field on Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 4:30 pm. Plymouth will be in action Saturday at home with Logansport with an 11 a.m. start.
