Bremen runners post PR performances

MIDDLEBURY — The Bremen Lions boys and girls track and field team headed to Middlebury for the first time to take on Northridge and Westview, two teams that carry state and even national-level talent.

The meet was run as a double dual, pitting the Lions against each team separately for scoring. The boys had the opportunity to race against Westview’s Noah Bontrager, a national-level athlete who recently won the New Balance National meet while breaking the 4-minute mile with the 7th fastest high school indoor time in US history.
By the end of the meet, the girls had recorded 4 first-place finishes in individual races and 2 first-place relays. Senior captain Emma Kincaid had another great meet, winning all 3 of her individual races and anchoring the winning 4×400 relay team that continues to run state-level times.
Many Bremen runners had PR performances during the meet and will look to continue that momentum in practice, preparing for their home meet on April 14 with Knox.
