Plymouth girls ace Rochester in opener
ROCHESTER — Plymouth’s girls volleyball team took a straight set win over Rochester to open their season 25-19, 25-20, 25-18.
Olivia Ringer had 26 assists for Plymouth. Eva Sheedy had eight kills, Sophia Stien had seven. Kristin Manges had a pair of aces and six kills and Emaline VanDuyne had 16 digs.
“I told the girls that coming out in our first match and taking the match in three straight sets is a great way to start the season,” said Plymouth coach Ashley Koss. “We know we haven’t reached our peak yet and still have plenty of room to grow, but I’m very proud of how they didn’t let up and maintained control throughout all three sets.”
The JV took a 27-25, 25-20 win. Birkley Cooper had six kills, eight digs and five aces.
The next match will be on Tuesday, August 19, at home versus Laporte.
