Plymouth shut out by Peru
PERU — Plymouth Boys Tennis travelled to Peru Tuesday night to take on the Bengal Tigers at Thrush Courts, falling to a formidable opponent 5-0.
The Pilgrims were unable to get much going throughout the evening, winning just four total games on the three singles courts (all of which were won by Liam Hanyzewski at 1S) and just seven total games on the two doubles courts. The Plymouth 2D duo of Benson Prater and Landon Tyler played a competitive first set against their opponents before falling in straight sets.
“It was a rough night for us overall tonight,” said Plymouth coach Brad Haeck. “I thought Liam competed hard and showed some nice things on the 1S court. He was able to use some skills and tactics he worked on in practice yesterday and battled admirably out there against a quality opponent.”
“Thankfully, we have another opportunity to compete tomorrow night. Hopefully, we can have a short memory but still learn from this and show improvement tomorrow on our home courts.”
Plymouth Varsity/JV hosts Tippecanoe Valley on Wednesday, 8/27/25, for a 5:30 PM start.
