Lady Dragons take senior night win
ARGOS — The Argos Lady Dragons hosted the Morgan Township Lady Cherokees Friday night during Senior Night for Whittlee Singleton, Luna Gomez, and Ellie Bollenbacher by a final of 6-1.
Argos was first on the board when Emily Pippenger slipped the ball to Elaina Conklin for a one-touch shot in the 10th minute, and less than a minute later, Madison Reynolds floated a free kick over the defense, and Pippenger was able to run on and tuck in her second goal of the night.
In the 25th minute, Conklin found Sam Umbaugh, who took a quick shot and got it past the keeper. Hayna Willis assisted Haley Shafer for the final goal of the first half, 4-0.
Starting the second half off quickly, Argos Hayna Willis crossed the ball to Ellie Bollenbacher, who was able to float the ball over the keeper’s hands. The Dragons’ final goal came in the 50th minute when Hayna Willis was able to clean up a keeper bobble.
Morgan Township was able to net their only goal of the game in the 62nd minute, 6-1.
The Dragons outshot the Cherokees 13-9 and improved their record to 4-9-1 and await the sectional draw on Sunday. They will play their final two games of the regular season on Tuesday against Culver Academy and Saturday at Bethany Christian.
