Plymouth girls get NLC shutout

PLYMOUTH — Plymouth’s girls soccer team got two early goals and rode them to a 2-0 shutout win over Wawasee.
Plymouth got goals from Maia Danforth at 2:24 with an assist from Addie Hundt, and at 38:03, Ella Young found the net for Plymouth.
The defense did the rest with the Lady Rockies outshooting Wawasee 21-1.
“Tonight, we fielded another different starting XI to offset some late-season injuries,” said Plymouth coach Adam Calhoun. “Tonight, we saw Lilly Jackson step into the goal and earn a win and the shutout. Maia Danforth scored her first varsity goal tonight while Ella Young struck again from 40 yards out. We will continue to learn and grow from tonight’s result. We are back at it next Tuesday against another NLC team, Northwood, and a potential sectional opponent at home on our senior night.”
Plymouth is now 3-7-3 on the season.
