Argos gets a win in final regular-season game
GOSHEN — The Argos Lady Dragons traveled to Bethany Christian Saturday Evening to take on the Lady Bruins, taking a 5-1 win.
The Dragons were the first to score in the 20th minute when Avery Binfet crossed the ball to Samantha Umbaugh, who beat the keeper to the far post. Five Minutes later, Umbaugh would slip the ball through to Elaina Conklin, who was able to beat the keeper to the near post this time, putting the Dragons up by two.
The Dragons scored their third goal of the half in the 32nd minute when Leah Pizzuto was able to clean up a bouncing ball in the box.
It was the Bruins who were the first to score in the second half in the 54th minute. The Dragons quickly responded with their fourth and fifth goals of the evening, as Sam Umbaugh beat her defender on both attempts in the 55th and 59th minutes, respectively, to make the score 5-1.
The Dragons outshot the Bruins 21-6 and improved their record to 5-10-1 completing their regular season. Now eyes move to Sectionals beginning on Tuesday as the Dragons will host the Rochester Zebras with a kickoff set for 5 pm.
