Plymouth girls move on with shutout win

PLYMOUTH — Plymouth’s girls soccer team will play for a sectional title on Saturday after taking a 7-0 shutout over Wawasee on Thursday.
Plymouth got a pair of goals from Carley Diaz, who also had an assist. Victoria Bohorquez had a goal and a pair of assists in the win.
Plymouth had 17 shots on goal, and the defense held the Warriors to none.
“Our offense showed signs of life as we tallied our top scoring output this season,” said Plymouth coach Adam Calhoun. “This was a rematch from a few weeks ago, where we won 2-0 at their home turf field.”
“We are very proud of the way we competed and played a solid game tonight against an improved Lady Warriors team. We got some good film, the positives continue to come, and we will see what things we can capitalize on as we gear up for another rematch against the defending sectional champs, the CGA EAgles.”
Plymouth is now 4-9-3 on the year and will take on CGA Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the Kindt Soccerplex.
