Plymouth boys win double on opening night
PLYMOUTH — Last night, Rochester and Caston traveled to Plymouth for a three-way meet. The Pilgrims were able to get two wins, beating both Caston and Rochester. Team Scores:
Plymouth 86, Caston 37
Plymouth 84, Rochester 39
Individual event winners were Jordan Gast (12) in the 200, Hunter Shipley (11) in the 400, Aidan Faulstich (12) in the 800, the 4×100 (Shortt, Ellery, O’Leary, Gast), the 4×400 (Faulstich, Houin, O’Leary, Shipley), Cas Hundt (11) in PV, Kylen Ellery (12) in LJ, and then both Ellery and Hundt tied for the win in HJ.
Other highlights from the meet were the Pilgrims swept the 800, taking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Freddy Kallenberg (12) and Rochester’s Leandro Javier had an outstanding 1600 that came down to a sprint, both running a 4:57.
Caz Hundt vaulted 12ft last night when last season his best was 10ft 6in. First-time thrower Carson Rivera (12) threw the shot 37 ft, taking 3rd. Freshman Tayveon Warner threw 126 ft 1 in in Disc in his first high school meet, taking 2nd.
