Triton boys track 3-1 in a four-team meet
BOURBON — Triton Track and Field put together a standout team performance across both track and field events, earning multiple first-place finishes, personal records, and strong relay showings in a competitive meet.
On the track, Triton’s sprint crew set the tone early. In the 100m dash, Jayden Overmyer claimed first place with a winning time of 11.23 (PR). In the 200m, Isaac Quintana powered to a dominant victory in 22.96 (PR). He is VERY close to setting a new school record in the 200m. The record was set back in 2002 by Matt Anders at 22.07.
Hurdle events were another highlight for Triton. Vinny Prater took first in the 110m hurdles with a strong 16.59 (PR). The Trojans also earned a second-place finish in the 300m hurdles from Brady Heckaman, who ran 47.59.
Distance events brought key contributions as well, with Lincoln Williams earning a 3rd-place finish in the 800m (2:13.61, SB), and consistent efforts from Grant Williams, Jamison Swanson, Colton Large, and Matthew Hernandez across the middle and long distance races.
Relay success capped off a strong night for Triton. The Trojans secured 1st place in the 4x100m relay (45.85) with Prater, Quintana, Callahan, and Overmyer. They also claimed victory in the 4x400m relay (3:46.50, SB) behind Quintana, Lincoln Williams, Faulkner, and Prater, and added a 2nd-place finish in the 4x800m relay.
In the field events, Cameron Callahan led the way with an impressive sweep in jumps. He won both the high jump (5’10”) and long jump (19’0”), providing a major boost to the team score. Cayden Bradley also captured 1st in pole vault (11’6”).
Triton’s throwing squad made a significant impact as well. Brady Schuh dominated the throwing events, winning the discus (128’10”) and placing 2nd in shot put (43’3”). Vinny Prater added a strong 4th-place discus finish (115’6”), while multiple athletes recorded personal bests across both shot and discus.
Overall, Triton showcased depth, speed, and consistency across all disciplines, highlighted by multiple event wins, relay victories, and personal record performances—continuing to build momentum as the season progresses.
