Bremen stunned by South Central

UNION MILLS — The Bremen baseball team played at South Central on Tuesday and saw a 7-1 lead after 4 turn into a stunning 9-8 walk-off loss.
Zack Rouch had a massive day for Bremen, driving in seven runs and hitting a grand slam in the fourth to put the visitors up 7-0. South Central scored four in the 5th, one in the 6th, and 3 in the 7th to come back and steal a win.
Lion pitchers allowed only six hits but also issued 13 free passes in the game.
The Lions scored three in the 2nd on a bases-loaded double by Rouch before a 30-minute rain delay paused the action. After the wait, Bremen extended the lead to 7-0 on Rouch’s 4th inning grand slam.
Bremen hitters only struck out twice and put a number of balls in play with authority, but the South Central defense stepped up in the late innings. The game ultimately came down to a two-out, bases-loaded double in the bottom of the 7th that plated the tying and winning runs for the Satellites after they entered the inning trailing 8-6.
Bremen now sits at 13-3 on the season and will return to action at John Glenn on Thursday, looking to secure an INSC title after starting conference play 8-0.
