Faulkner resigns as Triton girls basketball coach

BOURBON — According to a press release from the Triton High School AD’s office, Ashli Faulkner has resigned as head coach of the girls’ basketball program at the school.
Quoting the release:
“Triton Jr/Sr High School would like to extend its sincere gratitude to Ashli Faulkner for her dedicated service as the Girls Varsity Basketball Coach over the past two years. During her time leading the program, Ashli has made a lasting impact on our student-athletes, investing not only in their development on the court but more importantly in their growth as young women of character.
Ashli has been a person of incredible integrity and a true role model for Triton Scholars. Her commitment to building relationships, mentoring students, and especially pouring into the lives of the young ladies in our basketball program has been evident in all that she has done. The influence she has had will continue to be felt well beyond her time on the sidelines.
We have been made aware that, effective immediately, Ashli will be stepping down from her position as Girls Varsity Basketball Coach. While we will certainly miss her leadership within the program, we are grateful that she will continue to serve Triton Jr/Sr High School in her integral role as the leader of our Counseling Department.
In that role, Ashli’s impact reaches far beyond college and career exploration. She is a trusted mentor, advocate, and source of encouragement for our students, and we are thankful that she will continue to invest in their lives in such a meaningful way.
We thank Ashli for her time, her passion, and her unwavering commitment to Triton, and we wish her continued success as she carries forward her important work with our students.
We will immediately begin our search for the next Triton girls’ head basketball coach.”
