Plymouth aces Wawasee

PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth Girls Tennis Team hosted Wawasee Monday in their final NLC dual match of the season, winning 5-0 while losing only 8 total games across the five Varsity courts. It was the fourth win in four calendar days for the Lady Pilgrims tennis team.
The Plymouth 1D duo of Marisa Langfeldt and Lydia Wray were the first to finish Monday, winning their match 6-0, 6-0. In contrast, Plymouth 2S player Mia Hartley and the Plymouth 2D team of Hanley Feldman and Elly Kruyer finished a short time later while losing just one game each. Pilgrim 3S player Allison Grobe and 1S player Sophia Cantero each lost just three games to finish off the 5-0 team win.
The win moves the Pilgrims to 6-0 in NLC play, with the finish of their match against Northridge scheduled for Tuesday evening at NorthWood at approximately 6:15-6:30 PM. Northridge is also 6-0 in NLC play. The Plymouth-Northridge team match was tied 2-2, with the 3S match between Plymouth’s Allison Grobe and Northridge’s Jade Snyder still to finish, with Northridge leading 5-2 in the third set.
Next Match: Plymouth Varsity will travel to NorthWood on Tuesday to complete the 3S match with Northridge, 6:15-6:30 start. Plymouth Varsity will then travel to Mishawaka (Ward Baker Park) on Wednesday to compete in the First Round of the NLC Tourney, with matches starting as early as 4:00 PM.
