BASEBALL: Pilgrims drop one to Columbus North

Cam Dennie went 2-4 at the plate, but Plymouth Pilgrims fell 14-5 to Columbus North at McCutcheon on Saturday.

Cam Dennie put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for Plymouth Pilgrims Varsity. He doubled in the third and fourth innings.

Jake Petrusky recorded the win for Columbus North even though he allowed five runs over six innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered nine hits.

Columbus North was sparked by Korry Drum and Wade Rankin, who teamed up for three hits and three RBIs.

Caleb Mikesell ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked five and struck out four.

Plymouth Pilgrims  jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the second. A double by Dyllon Pavey, plating Spencer Maecroft and Benji Nixon started the inning off. The scoreboard lit up again for Plymouth Pilgrims when Schuler scored on an RBI single by Nate Nixon.

Columbus North went up for good in the sixth, scoring 10 runs on two errors.
