Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week for this week is Austin Risner, a member of the Football Team at Knox High School.
Austin helped lead his team to a Sectional opening win over Fairfield with spectacular play on both sides of the ball. The wide receiver ended up throwing two touchdown passes in an exciting twist in the Redskins offense enroute to the Redskins 49-7 win. He also caught a pass for a 14-yard gain.
On the defensive side, the 6-1, 190 pound Senior had two interceptions and was in on 5 tackles as the Redskins tied the school record for most wins in a season as they won their 9th game of the year, sending them into the semi-final round of Sectional play.
A 3-year letter winner in football, Austin is also a member of the basketball and track teams at Knox.
Congratulations to Austin Risner of Knox High School, our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week.
Austin will receive a certificate suitable for framing, a history of the Award and a T-shirt commemorating his achievement.
He’ll also be eligible for our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Year Award next Spring, which carries with it a beautiful plaque and a college scholarship, compliments of WKVI and the Family of Tyler Roth.
