Lady Chargers Prepare for Postseason

DONALDSON, IN – The Ancilla College volleyball team looks to create a lasting run in this weekend’s District F volleyball postseason tournament at Owens CC.

Ancilla will play Cincinnati State Technical and CC on Friday October 31st at 6:00 PM at Owens Community College in their first round of the Post Season Region Tournament. The Lady Chargers enter the tournament with a 20-19 overall record that includes a current two game winning streak.

Cincinnati State Technical and CC is a team the Lady Chargers have not faced this season, but with a similar record and comparable statistics, head coach Lana Singleton remains critical of all the preparations, yet optimistic with her team’s abilities, “Without seeing this team play in person, my biggest fear going off the stats from a Cincinnati Tech standpoint is the fact that they have the #1 blocker in the country in Faith Gerhardstein. She has 162 blocks solo and 90 block assists for a total of 252 blocks; that is one amazing number and hopefully we have good offensive coverage against that. A concern on our side is the fact that we have been averaging at least one player out ill almost every day for the last week or so. A bug is going around and taking my girls out one by one. Hopefully, our competitive schedule this season has prepared us for post season play.”

District F volleyball tournament action kicks off Friday October 31st and continues into November 1st at 12:00 PM at Owens CC in Toledo, OH.
