Olivia Tolmen 2/14/15

Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week for this week is Olivia Tolmen, a member of the Girls Basketball team at South Central High School.

Olivia had the play of the year for her team as the #5 ranked Lady Stellites defeated the #4 ranked Culver Lady Cavaliers on a last second shot 38-37.

With 1.7 seconds left to play and the Satellites trailing by a single point, Olivia was assigned the task of making a full-court pass to a teammate to try for the game-winning field goal. Despite the Lady Cavs’ defense doubling up near the basket, the 5-8 sophomore threw a pin-point pass to Riley Popplewell, who scored the game-winning basket as time expired.

In addition to her clutch pass, Olivia scored 4 points and followed that with 5 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals in the Satellite win over Triton, which advanced them to the Sectional Championship game for the first time since 2006.

Olivia is the daughter of Jud and Althea Tolmen.
