Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week 2-13-2021
Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week for this week is Braden Nuest, a member of the Wrestling Team at West Central High School.
Braden qualied for Semi-State competition with a first place finish in the Regional for the second year in a row. Wrestling at 145 as a Senior, Braden got a quick pin in 1 minute and 15 seconds in the opening round of the Regional, then got a major 14-6 decision and dominated the championship match, getting a 16-5 major decision.
This year marked Braden’s third Sectional championship, his second Regional championship and two Conference Championships. He has now qualified 4 times for Regional competition and 3 times as a Semi-State qualfier.
Braden built a career record of 121 wins and 23 losses with a Senior year record of 36-2 heading into the Semi-State!
Braden is the son of Chris and Jennifier Nuest.

Braden will receive a certificate suitable for framing, a history of the Award, and a T-shirt commemorating his achievement and he’ll also be a future guest on the Saturday Sportsline.
He will also be eligible for our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Year Award next Spring which carries with it a beautiful plaque and a college scholarship, compliments of WKVI and the Family of Tyler Roth.
