Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week 10-13-18
Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week for this week is Lauren Cox, a member of the Volleyball Team at North Judson-San Pierre High School.
Lauren was named the Indiana High School Player of the Week by MaxPreps, the online sports information organization that publicizes high school sports in all 50 states. The recognition was made for the week of October 1st through the 7th, when the Blue Jays ran off successive 3-0 wins over Winamac, West Central and Hebron.
In the 9 games played, the 5-11 Senior Middle and Outside Hitter had 60 kills, averaging 6.7 per game, came up with 18 digs, had 25 receptions, scored 9 aces and had 8 blocks on defense.
A 4-year starter in volleyball for the Blue Jays Lauren helped the Jays to a Sectional championship two years ago, and is also a 4-year starter in basketball and helped the Jays to a Sectional championship in that sport last year.
Lauren is the daughter of Andrea and Kevin Cox and has committed to play volleyball at Ferris State University in Michigan next year.
