Bremen girls advance nine runners to regional
BREMEN — The Lady Lions of Bremen Track and Field entered into their Sectional Championship meet with big expectations and the desire to perform to their best as the host of IHSAA Sectional 6.
Even with cooler temperatures throughout the evening and strong wind gusts, the girls were able to move five individuals and two relays onto the Regional finals next Tuesday at Warsaw.
The evening was highlighted by the 4×400 relay team dominating the field as Sectional Champions and senior Naomi Moyer throwing three straight personal bests in shot put(despite the rain and wind) to advance to the Regional.
Regional Qualifiers for Bremen:
Skylee Feathers – High Jump (2nd)
Hannah Pezzuto – 100 Hurdles (2nd)
Emma Kincaid – 100 dash (2nd), 400 dash (2nd)
Kate Kincaid – 800 run (2nd)
Kila Foster – 200 dash (2nd)
Naomi Moyer – Shot put (3rd)
4×100 relay – Sienna O’Connor, Sara Sahlhoff, Elle Libey, Kila Foster (3rd)
4×400 relay – Kate Kincaid, Sara Sahlhoff, Elle Libey, Emma Kincaid (Sectional Champions) Scoring for the Lady Lions: Kila Foster – Long Jump (4th), 100 dash (4th) Teagan Feathers – Pole Vault (4th) Angelica Checchin – 800 run (6th) Hannah Pezzuto – 300 hurdles (6th) 4×800 relay – Angelica Checchin, Lindsey Byrd, Charlotte Rink, Lauren Hartsell (4th) Regional qualifiers will compete next Tuesday at Warsaw High School.
