LaVille boys win Dennis Rippy Invite

WALKERTON — WALKERTON – The co-ed track and field team participated in the Dennis Rippy Invitational Friday night.
A total of eight schools participated in the annual Rippy Invitational event.
On the boys’ side, LaVille came away with six event championships and racked up 161 points to secure its second team title in three years. Pioneer finished second, Knox third, 2024 champ Jimtown concluded in fourth and the host Falcons in fifth. Bethany Christian closed in sixth, Trinity Greenlawn seventh and Culver Community eighth.
Event champs for LaVille include Cole Stafford in the 200m dash, Lance Edison in the high jump, Dylan Miller in the long jump, along with the duo of Avery Garrett and Ryan Maenhout, who tied for first in the pole vault. The 4X100 relay team of Cody Allen, Konnor Amor, Miller, and Edison grabbed a blue ribbon, while the 4X400 relay group of Stafford, Miller, Edison and Hudson Rush crossed the finish line first.
In the girls competition, LaVille battled before finishing fourth with 86 points. Pioneer won its third straight team title with 140 points, followed by Jimtown and John Glenn. Closing out the team placement was Trinity Greenlawn in fifth, Bethany Christian, Culver Community, and Knox.
The Lancers picked up valuable points with four runner-up finishes, including Mikalah Kuskye in the 200, Brooke Edison in the 300 hurdles, Denni Markin in the discus, and Reagan Mitchell in the pole vault.
Both the boys and the girls return to the track on May 14 in the Indiana Northern State Conference Track & Field Championships.
