Plymouth tennis heads to final
CULVER — Plymouth traveled to Culver Thursday to participate in the Semi-Final Round of the Culver Academies Girls Tennis Sectional, beating Triton 5-0.
Overall, Plymouth came out well from the start, earning big leads on all five courts, which resulted in five lopsided first-set wins for the Pilgrims. The second sets continued much the same, with Plymouth once again earning strong leads on each court.
But Triton played their best with their backs against the wall, and battled back well in their second sets. Overall, the Trojans’ Varsity lineup won 11 total games in the second set after Plymouth got to 5 games in those sets.
“Credit to Triton, we came out very well early and they did a nice job of responding and battling back in the second sets,” said Plymouth coach Brad Haeck. “They certainly made us work hard to finish off the matches. They have had a nice overall season. We are excited to get another win and are looking forward to the opportunity to play for a Sectional Championship tomorrow.”
Plymouth travels to Culver Academies for the Sectional Finals against Culver Academies tonight with a 5:30 PM start.
