Triton girls break school record in HNAC meet

CULVER — Triton’s track teams competed in the HNAC meet at Culver with the boys coming away with a second-place finish and the girls a fourth-place finish.


Culver was sixth in the boys’ meet and seventh in the girls’ meet. Oregon-Davis finished eighth.
Triton’s 4×100 girls’ Relay team, consisting of Varsity members, Hosannah Chupp, Katie Reichard, Lydia Hammond, and Kiy Fear, broke a 39-year school record. The previous record from 1986 was held by Kristen Meister, Dina Rowe, Kelley Reichert, and Wendy Rust with a time of 52.70. This year’s team ran a 52.21.
Triton runners walked away with five All-Conference medals and five All-Conference Honorable Mentions.
Placing 1st on the night and earning the title of ALL Conference Champ were:
Katie Reichard in Long Jump with a jump of 15′ 6.5″
Cameron Callahan took 1st in the 100m dash, Long Jump, and as a member of the Boys Varsity 4×100 Relay Team. The other members of the winning AC team were Vinny Prater, Jayden Overmyer, and Isaac Quintana.
Jacob Hudson took 1st in the Pole Vault with a new PR by jumping 11’6″ to take that win.


Those placing 2nd on the night and receiving All-Conference honorable mention were:
Jayden Overmyer in the 100m dash and Cameron Callahan in the High Jump this time for both of them.
The record-setting 4×100 girls relay team actually came in 2nd to get AC/HM on the night. Senior Katie Reichard went on to win not one but 2 MORE AC/HM in the 200m dash and also as a part of the 4x800m Relay team. That team was filled out with Austyn Wright, Chloe McKinney, and Rory Heckaman.
