Lions in final

JAMESTOWN — The Bremen Lions baseball team will play for a sectional championship on Monday evening after beating Winamac 4-2 to open sectional play. Bremen took the lead in the first and added two in the 4th and one in the 5th. The Lions collected 7 hits on the day.
Aden Hunziker had himself a great all-around day by going 6 1/3 innings on the mound, allowing only three hits and two runs while striking out five batters. At the plate, Hunziker hit a big solo home run in the 5th inning to push the Lions’ lead to four.
Brady Weldy closed out the game, coming in with the bases loaded and 1 out with the top of the Winamac order coming up. Weldy battled, allowing one hit before recording the final out on a pop-up to right.
Bremen (18-9) will play Jimtown for a championship on Monday evening at 5:30 p.m. at Jimtown.
