Plymouth boys are 8th and girls 11th at Manchester

MANCHESTER — Plymouth traveled to North Manchester for our first Saturday XC Invite, with the boys running to an 8th place finish out of the 20 teams present and the girls 11th of 19 schools.
“We left 7 kids home who were either sick or injured, but the teams still prevailed and ran well,” said Plymouth coach Curtis Nordman. “Of the 24 kids who ran for Plymouth, eight had lifetime PR fastest races. That includes Will Ogilvie, Nolan Carroll, Henry Fort, Takoda Anderson, Bryant Ogilvie, Luke Derifield, Jaxon O’Connor, and Brooklyn Scruggs.”
“Brooklyn’s last meet she ran a time that placed her 47th on Plymouth’s Top 50 5k List, and today she extended that to 41st all time,” he said. “An extra shoutout to Jaxon O’Connor (9), who ran a 19:12 and is officially faster than Coach Nordmann from when he was a freshman.
Overall, the boys’ varsity was 8th of the 20 teams, losing to Manchester but beating Huntington North and CMA, which are all Sectional opponents.
Ribbon winners were Freddy Kallenberg (12th) and Ethan Podlesak (27th) in the Varsity race, and then Takoda Anderson (15th) and Will Ogilvie (19th) in the JV race.
On the girls’ side, the ladies were 11th of the 19 teams, beating the Sectional opponents of CGA, Manchester, and Northfield.
Plymouth’s next meet is their only home race, which is also Senior Night, at Pretty Lake Golf Course. Senior night will begin at 5 pm, the boys’ race at 5:30 pm, and the ladies’ at 6:15 pm.
