Bremen girls compete at Penn

MISHAWAKA — Two Bremen lady wrestlers traveled to Penn High School for the Sarah Hildebrandt Invite. These two ladies took 33rd out of 51 teams.
Makenzie Shumaker competed in a tough weight class today at 145. Makenzie got a bye in the first round and then took on the 9th-ranked girl in the state from Plymouth. Makenzie won by fall in 1 minute and 43 seconds. Next round, she wrestled a conference opponent from John Glenn. Shumaker won 12-6. Makenzie won her semi-final round by fall. For the championship match, Makenzie wrestled the 7th-ranked girl at 155, who was down a weight class. Makenzie won by tech fall 16-1.
Kayleanna Moser was in action today for her first meet of the year. Kayleanna had a bye, then wrestled a tough match against a Hobart wrestler and came up short. Kayleanna then wrestled a close match against Elkhart and came up short.
