Bremen girls wrestling opens season at Whitko
BREMEN — The Girls traveled to Whitko to start their season. Two Lady Lions competed and ended up in 21st place with 23 points.
McKenzie Scott went 2-2 on the day. She won her first two matches by pin and advanced to the semi-finals.
Makenzie Shumaker went 2-1 and was runner-up in her weight class. She had a bye in the first round and then went on to tech-fall her next two opponents. She would then face a very solid sophomore from Western High School who got 5th last season at State, with Shumaker ultimately coming up short.
The girls will be back in action next Saturday at Penn High School.
