Plymouth names interim football coach

PLYMOUTH — In a press release on Thursday afternoon, the Plymouth High School athletic department announced the appointment of Assistant Athletic Director Brent Corbett as the interim head football coach for the 2026-27 school year.
Corbett was a multi-sport athlete and a graduate of Plymouth High School in 2007. He played football and baseball during his time at Plymouth, moving on to Taylor University on a four-year football scholarship.
He returned to Plymouth and has been part of the football coaching staff since 2011. He was also an assistant baseball coach from 2011 to 2022.
According to the release, Corbett met with current players and will be in communication with parents regarding summer plans, schedules, and program preparations for the upcoming season.
The release quotes Corbett as saying, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead this program. Rockie football means a great deal to me personally, and I’m excited to work with our student athletes, coaches, and community. Our goal is to build Rockie football back to the championship level teams of the past while creating a program and team our community can be proud to support.”
