Hanyzewski bows out in regional round

INDIANAPOLIS — Plymouth #1 Singles Player, junior Liam Hanyzewski, traveled to North Central High School in Indianapolis on Saturday to play in the Individual Singles Regional Tournament.
Liam lost in the opening round to senior Payton Belegal of Chesterton, 6-0, 6-1.
Overall, Liam played a solid match, playing lots of strong points and rallies and playing some of his best tennis to date, despite the scoreboard. Liam made his opponent earn almost all of his points. He had very few unforced errors, and mixed in some good offensive shots to shorten points and some good defensive shots to extend rallies.
“What a great experience Saturday was for Liam,” said coach Brad Haeck. “Proud of how he competed in this match, and in several matches at the end of the season. We are excited to see Liam’s investment in tennis and see his improvement on the tennis courts over the next year.”
