Dominate Plymouth performance in season opener

The Plymouth Pilgrims opened up their 2014-2015 season with a win over Marshall County foe Bremen 89-36 at The Rock Saturday night.  The Pilgrims jumped out to a quick 23-6 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and never looked back.

The Pilgrims were lead by senior post player Tyler England with 24 points.  He split his points by scoring 12 in each half.  He also pulled down 6 rebounds.  Three other Pilgrims scored in double figures.  Junior guard Cam Eveland had 13 points, and senior guard Reis Yoder and junior forward Josh Anders each had 10 points.  Anders also pulled down 9 rebounds.

“One way we  measure effort on this team is by deflections.  I felt we really did well getting into the passing lanes of Bremen and forcing them to do things they were not ready for.”, said Head Coach Ryan Bales.

Plymouth had 15 deflections in the ballgame but also 15 turnovers themselves, although none of the giveaways made a difference in the outcome.

Bremen falls to 0-2 and continues to struggle offensively.  They shot 28% Saturday night, 34% in game one versus Argos.   The Lions also were dominated on the boards by Plymouth 29-14.

The Pilgrims jump back into it Tuesday night at The Rock as the host the Triton Trojans.  JV start time is set for 6:15.   This game will be broadcasted on SPORTSTOTHEMAX.NET.
