LaVille, Plymouth battle to stalemate

PLYMOUTH — The Lady Rockies won the first half but the second half belonged to LaVille as the two teams battled to a 3-3 tie.
LaVille scored first with sophomore Chesney Vantornhout’s goal, but Plymouth responded with goals by Alydiah Quint and Layla Warner.
In the second half, LaVille’s Reagan Strang tied it off a corner kick. Plymouth grabbed the lead back 20 minutes later with a Carley Diaz goal, but the Lady Lancers knotted it back up at 64:44 with Leena Karkiewicz’s goal.
“Tonight was a mixed performance for us,” said Plymouth coach Lindsay Stiles. “We had some really good moments, but we also had stretches where we allowed the other team to dictate the game and our style of play. Our challenge moving forward is finding the consistency and confidence to take control of those moments, step up, communicate, and take responsibility when opportunities present themselves.”
Plymouth is now 2-3-2 and LaVille moves to 2-2-2.
