Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week 11-24-18

Brendan Day

Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week for this week is Brendan Day, a member of the Wrestling Team at Winamac High School.

Brendan made his mark in his first varsity meet by helping to lead his team to a 39-36 win over North White.  Wrestling in the 132 pound class, the Freshman made a statement in his opening appearance by pinning his opponent in 1 minutes and 32 seconds.  His performance earned him the “Warrior of the Night” designation from Coach Cody Hook.

Not only an outstanding wrestler, Brendan also was the algebra champion in the Hoosier North Conference Math contest and is at the top of his class academically with a 4.0 GPA.  He is also a member of the band and will run track next Spring.  He serves as Student Council Treasurer and is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and, outside of school, he has taken 4-H exhibits to the State Fair and served with the Boy Scouts.

Brendan is the son of Kullen and Toni Day.

Congratulations to Brendan Day of Winamac High School our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week.
