BOURBON — Knox shut out Triton in girls’ softball action by a 17-0 final.
Mylie Groves and Clara Doll led the Lady Trojans at the plate with a hit each.

Big innings carry Penn past Bremen
BREMEN — Penn scored 4 runs in the first inning at Pfeiffer Field on Wednesday and added 5 in the 5th, for two big innings taking a 10-5 NIC win over Bremen.
The Lady Lions battled back with a run in the 2nd and 3 runs in the 4th to tie the game. Bremen only scored again in the 6th for their final run.
The Lions took advantage of 8 walks by Olivia Signonno and Maggie Bell but eventually stranded 12 runners on base.
Yajaira Jimenez had a solo home run in the 6th her first of her Senior season.
Chrissy Grabowski suffered the loss from the circle.
Bremen Travels to Monticello to play at Twin Lakes against Benton Central on Friday game time at 5:30 p.m. and return Saturday to play Casper at 9 a.m., and Hobart at 1 p.m.

Baseball
Lions shut out by Penn
MISHAWAKA — Bremen fell to Penn 5-0 in NIC conference play on Wednesday night.
The Lions were led by a strong start on the mound by Zack Buszkiewicz who allowed 2 earned runs through 3 2/3 innings. Aden Hunziker went 2 1/3 allowing no runs and striking out 3.
The Lion’s offense couldn’t get anything going but played a competitive game defensively to keep the game within striking distance.
Silas Laidig and Zack Rouch doubled for Bremen.
The Lions are now 7-8 overall and 2-4 in conference play.

Golf
Plymouth golfers move forward
PLYMOUTH — Plymouth’s golfers made strides even though their opponents — LaVille and Culver — did not bring full teams and therefore there were no team scores kept.
The varsity was led by Dan Nguyen and O’Malley Holm with 39s. Easton Tapia had a 43, Caleb Harland had a 44 and Ben Nguyen had 46.
Ryan Tremaine and Amro Yasin each had a 48 to lead the JV scoring.
Plymouth will host an invitational on Saturday.

Track and Field
May breaks 42-year-old record in split with Rochester, Valley
ROCHESTER — Triton’s Javan May edged out a Tippy Valley runner for the win in the 100m dash on Wednesday night and his 10.6 time broke a record set in 1982 by Jeff Stouder.
Other Triton athletes who topped themselves by setting new personal records were:
Javan May, not only set a record in the 100m, set a new PR in the 200m also.
Caden Large in both the 110 and 300 Hurdles.
Antonio Johnson in the 100m.
Jaydon Heckaman in the 1600m run.
Isaac Quintana and Connor Stetzel both set new PRs in the 400M race.
Max Ritchison in Shot Put, Wayne Reichert in Discus, Ben McFarland in Pole Vault, and Kyle Cummins in Long Jump all had PRs on the night.
The girl’s varsity had several personal records set on the night:
The 4×100 relay team set a season-best time.
Addison Albright in the 100m Hurdles.
Lydia Hammond in the 100m dash.
200m dash had Katie Reichard setting a PR, while Braelyn Prater in the 400m and Kayla Poff in the 800m run set PRs too.
Field events saw Avery Viers setting a PR in Discus along with fellow thrower Sami Middaugh. Sami also had a season-best throw in the shot put.

Plymouth girls sweep NLC double dual meet
GOSHEN — Plymouth’s girl’s track team went to 5-3 overall on the season and 2-3 in NLC action with a double win over Goshen 87.5-52.5 and over NorthWood 88-52.

Jersey Hunter in the 100m hurdles
Sophie Wray in the 3200m and had a new personal best in 1600m

Marissa Kmiatek in the shot put
Danica Davids in discus.
The PHS girls will continue their outdoor season at home on Friday against the Lady Warriors and Lady Cavemen.

Plymouth boys fall to Warsaw and Wawasee
WARSAW — Fighting injuries the Plymouth boys track team fell to Warsaw and Wawasee on Wednesday.
Hurdlers Cole Figg and Ethan O’Leary had personal bests in the 300H. Figg broke 44 seconds for the first time. Michael Manges was a last-minute fill-in for the varsity 4×400 relay and delivered a split time of 56.5 which helped the team run the fastest time of the season.
Carter Bush ran a 23.51 in the 200 and beat all of the Warsaw sprinters. Aidan Faulstich dropped 4 seconds off his lifetime best in the 400m and ran a 2:05.55.
Plymouth will run on Tuesday at the NLC Championships in Warsaw.

JV baseball
Plymouth out hit by Mishawaka
MISHAWAKA — Plymouth’s JV baseball game dropped a tough 10-7 decision to Mishawaka in NLC action on Wednesday.
Plymouth got a two-hit, two-RBI night from Ben Shively and a pair of RBIs and a double from Dominic Vasquez.
