Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week 12/8/18

Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week for this week is Lindsey Simpson, a member of the Girls basketball team at Knox High School.

Lindsey became the 5th player in Knox Girls basketball history to pass the 1,000 point career scoring mark as she led her team to a win over Oregon-Davis. The 6-0 Senior scored 25 points in her team’s 53-45 victory and also pulled down 8 rebounds, came up with 7 steals and added 2 assists and 2 blocked shots in leading her team to their second consecutive win over their cross-county rivals.

A 4-year starter for Coach Neill Minix, Lindsey helped lead her team to a Sectional championship last year and is the all-time leader in steals for the Lady Redskins. She also has qualified for Regionals in both Cross Country and track the last two years.

Lindsey is the daughter of Rick and Geri Simpson and has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Indiana Tech in Ft. Wayne next year.

Congratulations to Lindsey Simpson of Knox High School, our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week.
