Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week 11-9-19

Zac Rose

Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week for this week is Zac Rose, a member of the Football Team at Knox High School.

Zac led his team to their first ever Sectional Football Championship with a consistent, mistake free performance at quarterback. The 6’1 170lb Junior scored the game winning touchdown in overtime to give the Redskins a 19-12 win over Calumet! He completed 6 of 11 passes for 110 yards and scored two touchdowns, including the winning score on the first play of overtime. He also was in on 3 tackles on defense.

Zac is the son of Tim and Lori Rose, and also plays basketball and baseball for the Redskins. Zac comes from a long line of Redskin athletes! His dad, Tim, was on the Redskins’ only Sectional Championship Baseball team in 1996. His Grandfather, Rusty, was a member of the 1975 Redskins’ Conference Championship Football Team.

Zac will receive a certificate suitable for framing, a history of the award, a T-shirt commemorating his achievement, and a free pizza compliments of Momma’s Pizzeria. He will also be a future guest on the Saturday Sportsline!

Zac will also be eligible for our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Year Award next Spring, which carries with it a beautiful plaque and a college scholarship, compliments of WKVI and the family of Tyler Roth.
