Bremen tennis, baseball get opening night wins

Bremen takes a big win in the opener
BREMEN — The Bremen baseball team kicked off the 2024 campaign with a dominating 14-4 win over Central Noble in 5 innings.
The Lions put the pressure on early leaving runners stranded through the first 2 innings. In the top of the 3rd, the Lions allowed a few walks coupled with 2 defensive miscues led to a 4-run inning for the Cougars. The Lions immediately answered back with 4 runs in the bottom of the 3rd.
After a quick top of the 4th, the Lions put up another 3 in the bottom half led by a solo home run to center field by Silas Laidig. The Lions finished the game in the 5th by scoring 7 runs in a total team effort.
Bremen collected 17 total hits including 6 extra base hits. All 9 Lions in the starting lineup collected at least 1 hit.
Laidig was three for three adding a triple to his home run and struck out three in three innings of work on the mound. Aden Hunziker was two for two with a double and two RBIs and Preston Williams was two for two with three RBIs.
Kaden Martin took the win on the mound striking out three in two innings pitched.

Lions win opener
BREMEN – Bremen easily won all three singles matches, then two close wins at the doubles positions gave the Lady Lions a 5-0 season-opening win over West Noble.
