Lady Pilgrims get a big NLC win
PLYMOUTH — Plymouth hosted NLC opponent, Wawasee, on Saturday evening on Senior Night and came away with a 52-43 win.
Keys to the game were to handle their pressure, no more than 12 turnovers, win the battle of the boards, attack the Lady Warriors, and force them go to their bench due to foul trouble.
Plymouth executed those keys and went into halftime up 25-18.
Wawasee’s pressure caused 8 Plymouth turnovers in the first half, but the Lady Pilgrims were more physical in the second half, stepping through the pressure to pass, limiting the turnovers to 4.
The Lady Pilgrims came out strong in the 3rd, extending the lead to 13, but Wawasee went on a run of their own in the final quarter but Plymouth was able to hold them off for the win.
Sophie Miller had a nearly perfect game, scoring 21 points on 6/7 field goals and 9/11 from the free throw line while also adding eight rebounds. Chloe Horton added 15 points for the Lady Pilgrims on 6/10 attempts while also adding four rebounds. Lena Jones played strong offensively and defensively for the Lady Pilgrims, contributing 6 points, five assists, seven rebounds, and two steals. Mady Sullivan added 8 points. The Lady Pilgrims finished 16/22 from the free throw line.
Plymouth is now 13-6 on the year.
