Improvements planned for Jack Edison Gymnasium
PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth Community School Corporation (PCS) School Board has officially
approved the naming of the main court at Plymouth High School in honor of former
Coach Jack Edison. This decision recognizes Coach Edison’s significant contributions to
the school’s athletic program and ensures that his legacy will be celebrated for years to
come.
Coach Edison, whose leadership and dedication helped shape the success of Plymouth
High School’s basketball program, will be forever honored with the name “Jack Edison
Court” prominently displayed on the basketball court surface when the next gym
remodel is completed. Additional signage will be placed at the gym’s entrance to honor
those donors contributing to the fundraising efforts.
Plymouth High School and the Athletic Department will embark on a fundraising
campaign over the next 10 months with a goal to raise $200,000 in support of the gym
renovation to allow for this official naming to be placed on the court. Although the
naming rights are not contingent upon meeting the full fundraising goal, any funds
raised will significantly enhance the gym and contribute to the ongoing improvements
to Plymouth High School’s athletic facilities.
This initiative is a fitting tribute to Coach Jack Edison’s decades of dedication and
impact on the school’s athletic programs. The naming of the basketball court provides a
permanent way for future generations to remember and honor his contributions to
Plymouth High School. The PCSC School Board’s approval marks the beginning of the
fundraising campaign to support these important upgrades, and the school community
is invited to participate in this effort to further enhance the athletic experience at
Plymouth High School.
