Chargers Set Records at ONU Invitational

BOURBONNAIS, IL — This past weekend, the Marian University Ancilla Women’s Track & Field team participated in the Olivet Nazarene Invitational in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Two Charger athletes specifically stood out with their performances, setting school records in a couple of their events. Below is a quick look at those results.
Sophomore Sarah Tepp participated in the javelin throw and set a personal best distance. Tepp had a long throw of 26.39 meters, which is also a school record. She ended the meet in 5th Place overall, and she finishes the year as the top javelin thrower in the region, 32nd overall in the nation.
Freshman Ga’Naysia White was entered in the long jump. In her qualifying rounds, White jumped a distance of 4.62 meters, which is another MUAC school record. She unfortunately suffered a setback and was unable to participate in the finals, so her 4.62-meter score qualified her for a 9th-place finish overall.
The Chargers have one last meet at Indiana State on May 9th. The NJCAA Championships then take place May 15th through May 17th for those who qualify.
