Bremen takes tough loss at hands of NorthWood
NAPPANEE — The Bremen Boys Soccer team entered Saturday’s first game of the Northwood Invite knowing that players would need to step up with injuries and sickness hitting the team, but NorthWood was able to come away with a 2-1 win.
With a change of formation from the previous games, the Lions looked dominant throughout the first half, keeping pressure on the Northwood backline and consistently winning the ball in duals. Alan Barrera found the back of the net on the team’s second shot of the game as the ball sailed cleanly over the Panthers’ goalie.
The second half was a bigger battle, and Northwood was able to gain a foothold in some of the possession and offensive opportunities. The Panthers capitalized on two opportunities in the second half to secure the victory.
The Lions pushed hard for an equalizer as the game came to a close, but were unable to create a shooting opportunity.
