Plymouth aced in NLC contest
SYRACUSE — Plymouth Boys Tennis travelled to Syracuse Thursday night to take on the reigning NLC Champion Wawasee Warriors, falling by a 5-0 final score.
One singles Nick Manzuk, 2S Liam Hanyzewski, 3S Caleb Edmiston, and 2D Logan Nelson-Landon Tyler all fell in their matches in straight sets. The Plymouth doubles team of Owen Walleske and Benson Prater took the only Pilgrim set of the evening, winning their first set at 1D before falling in their match in three sets.
“Wawasee has built a winning culture over the last few years and has another solid team this season,” said Plymouth coach Brad Haeck. “We were outplayed on all the courts tonight, but I thought we were much more competitive than the final scores would indicate on several of the courts.”
“Our goal is to continue to improve each match and understand that there is a process to getting better. We saw some positives tonight, and we will continue to build off of those.”
Next Match: Plymouth Varsity hosts the Crossroads Classic at the Mary Beth Hunter Tennis Complex on Saturday, where they will play dual matches against Leo and FW Carroll starting at 10 AM.
