Bremen takes a win at Manchester
MANCHESTER — The Bremen Lady Lions Softball team traveled to N. Manchester on Saturday morning for their 5th game of the week, winning against the Manchester Squires 13-8.
As was the case on Friday, the Lady Lions were patient at the plate, collecting 14 walks and 4 hit-by-pitches.
The Lions were trailing 6-3 through 5 innings, then scored 9 runs on 2 hits after 9 free passes to first. Pitcher Eliana Grubbs suffered a finger injury in the 3rd, so the Lions turned to Lexi Mammon, who allowed 4 hits, 4 runs, with 2 earned through 4 innings to notch her first Varsity win.
The Lions only had 8 hits between the free passes, but that was enough. Mady Milleman had 2 hits, including a double. Isabella Calentine added a pair of hits, Eliana Grubbs doubled, Lili Cullen had a bases-loaded single picking up 2 RBIs, while Peyton Johnson & Aubri O’Keefe had singles for the Lions.
Lexi Mammon picked up her first win from the circle in relief of Eliana Grubbs.
